Geoff Douglas (RAL), Alan Smith (RAL retired), Barry Fisher, Dave Wall and Keith Panting sailed to Torbay in Devon on the Yacht "Sea Tramp" to view the eclipse. Despite the predictions that it would be the "best" place to be they didn't see much, an adequate substitute was the eclipse cake baked by Geoff's wife. However, the mackerell fishing was excellent and subsequently went very well with several bottles of special brew eclipse beer produced by a local brewery.
